The Table Top Lamp uses an 18-watt, daylight simulation bulb, this lamp makes tying flies and other detailed work easier on the eyes, especially when working for extended periods of time. Has a quality 5"-diameter, 3- diopter lens with 1.75x magnification. Comes with a bulb and pedestal base for support on any flat surface.

Very useful light

This light is very usefull and aids fly tying greatly. The are a couple of pionts that could be improved, namely the flexable tubes that hold the light and magnifier could be a little longer. This would help position the light and magnifier better and more easily. Overall it works well and helps tying small flies.

The light from this lamp is good, but the rest of the design is not. When the light is centered over the vise, the magnifier goose neck is not long enough to reach the vise. Also when when you swing the magnifier out of the way when not in use the light pivots with it moving it away from the work area. They need to be mounted independently.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my husband. He seems very pleased with it and uses it often tying flies. At first he didn't think he would need or use the attached magnifying glass, but now finds it is easier and more convenient to use then the one he had attached to his desk.
A good gift for a fly tyer.
