DanVise New-Classic Vise

The best buy on the market, giving true rotary action and other features that cost much more on other fly-tying vises. The jaws swivel on two ball bearings to bind the materials around the hook when it rotates, making it faster and easier to tie professional-looking flies. The jaws, made of top-quality, tempered steel, hold hooks of all sizes completely immovable, yet open and close using a simple cam-arm system. Comes with a bobbin rest/wire holder that's indispensable for creating top-quality patterns. Includes C-clamp.

Quality Needs Work
Date:
The caps on the tightening screws are flimsy and come off frequently when adjusting the tension on various components. Some cannot be tightened enough to hold the component secure to the vise.
Over all, so far, it seems to be pretty good once adjusted. Just getting things set up has been a real pain in the .........
I think if I had it to do over, I'd buy an better known vise.

Good Vise
Date:
I bought this vise because I didn't want to pay top dollar, but still wanted a high-quality vise. I have been using it for over a year with zero problems. I would recommend it, especially considering it's a true rotary, and much cheaper than others out there. Hardcore tiers may want to spend more on a another vise, but If you tie just a handful of times a month like myself, this vise will be all you will ever need.

Not bad, could...
Date:
Not a bad vise at all. A few parts could be made of metal to increase, longevity and functionality. But overall a good, simple to use rotary.

Check it out before you buy it!

I picked up this vise and drove back home since I was in a hurry - I had read that this is the best value/price vise for around that money. I watched the video on the cd and opened the box and found out, that due to the fact that the vise is just wrapped in a little plastic bag and the vise itself is mostly plastic - it was broken in two pieces - not cool since this must have happened at store or during transport to it! Digging into more posts it appears to be a known problem that the internal screw brakes and therefore renders the vise to a piece of scrap. I brought it back and got my money - ended up buying and full metal 100% American made vise - no quality issues there at all! So do your homework before you get this one.
