Very good vise for the price

I have tied over 300 flies with this vise, it has performed well. I honestly wouldnt recommend this vise for tying large flies with a hook sice larger than a 4, the jaws dont care for big hooks. Hooks under that size this vise should hold up for years.

Cabella's Super AA Vice (fly tying)

This is a basic small nose vice for fly tying, no frills except the thread holder spring. I have had one for years and use it for everything, including tying, painting, glueing and assembly work. Additional wire gadgets, holders and trays are easy to hand make and add to the basic unit. The wire diameter of the hook is adjustable so its good for tiny hooks like size 20 & 22 or salt water hooks like 5/0 & 6/0. The adjusting nuts are knurled for easy grips and the finish is black oxide where it sometimes needs to be cleaned. "C" clamp mounts on most desks up to 1 1/2" thick and 3/8" diameter shank is adjustable from about 2" to 9" in height. I use mine for all kinds of jobs, not exclusive to fishing.

This vise is a good vise to use as a starter or back-up. I give it four stars because it loosens when you turn it left and it tightens when you turn it right.
