I recently began tying and needed an entry level, yet
quality vise.The kit I purchased from a local dealer did not include one. Numerous things I read about basic vises continued to mention Cabela's Master Vise.
I went to the Cabela's web site at a time when the Master Vise was also on sale!
I have been very happy with the combination of performance and value.No wonder the things I had read were all positive.
I also purchased the pedestal base and am very happy I did, I like not being shackled to the edge of the table. The simple flat base has a very good non-slip bottom and is very stable, it makes a compact footprint for use and storage.
Both items were shipped promptly, another plus.
I give it four stars because I'm not qualified as a novice to really rate anything higher without the experience.

good for the beginer

this is an ok product for someone just starting out learning how to tie flies which i am. but as you progress you need to kick it up a notch with a better one. just like your first bike. cabalas has great products.

Not up to cabelas standards. Not bad for a beginner except for the fact that it is hard to adjust. I returned the vise which is a rare thing for cabelas material. I bought a danvise and its a jem. Been tying for to long to mess with a tough vise.
