I gave this tool my best shot. I returned it once in the event the first one was defective. No such luck. Using it was an exercise in frustration. The initial tool kept shearing off the loop by cutting both wires and the second tool did not cut off the leader wire as it was supposed to. I ordered multiple sized wires in the event one worked better than the other. No success. I even called the manufacturer for tips, which I recieved but again no sucess. A friend who is a seasoned lure builder gave it a shot as well and we both came to the same conclusion...Cabelas should reconsider attaching their name to this item because it is ineffective, poor quality junk. Save yourself the trouble and invest a couple more dollars for a better quality product. To Cabelas credit, they did work with me in the original exchange and ultimate return.

My review is that this is a good tool but I am having trouble making the closed loop. Perhaps I just haven't mastered it yet. Works for bending very well though.

Good for the casual user. A little slow but a good tool. If you make 100-200 spinners a year this will do a good job.
