It does everything as advertised very well- but if you leave a fly on too long, it flattens the fly out on the side next to the patch. Not a problem if nymphs, but dry flies are likely to be deformed. I thought the flies would fluff back up, but I have had several permamently deformed, so it is no longer on my vest.

This is a great idea. No pins or clips, easily moves to where you need it and stays put. Magnet holds flies pretty securely while you are changing out your fly or tying a new leader. Haven't tried it in the famous Wyoming wind yet. But I would think it would work. Will find out this fall.

I said sticks, not stinks!
Slide off the piece of metal on the back, hold it under your shirt near the collar and place the patch over the shirt and slam! You're connected. Patch works great. Snip off a fly and just get it near the patch and it's stuck. Fly dries out if it's sunny, another plus. The patch's raised edges keep you from getting stuck while the flies are stuck. Works great and doesn't cost much. What else is there?

very versatile

This is a very nice alternative to the typical cotton patch that I usually use. I like that I can easily transfer it from my vest to a shirt or to the outside of my raingear.
