Trailer Spare Tire Carrier

Heavy-duty, welded, reinforced steel-plate construction lasts a lifetime. Carrier has 5" high offset that gives plenty of ground clearance. Fits four-and five-lug wheels. Carrier attaches easily to all trailers with tongues up to 3"W x 5"H. Locking hole to lock wheel and bracket to trailer. Not for use with 15" or larger wheels. Made in USA.
Available: Black painted or Tuff plate finish.

This works fine, but I would recommend the tuff cote over the paint. I docked it two stars because they send it with two 1 3/4" carriage bolts held on by push nuts. That's way too short a bolt and the push nuts won't hold a bolt straight out to put the tire on; no way that system works. You have to go buy two new longer carriage bolts and two washer that will fit over the square base and two (preferably lock) nuts to make the bolts hold firmly perpendicular to the base. Measure the depth of the inside of your tire rim and add about two inches to get the correct 1/2" bolt. So add about $5 to the actual price that they saved themselves.

Good Idea

I would have to rate this product @ 4.5. It is a well built product, The welding is phenominal!!! However the powder coating or paint is not up to par. There were 2 areas where there was no paint coverage. On 1 side on a inside corner and on the inside radius of mounting flange. I just happend to have the same color spray paint lying around. Now it looks good. My recommendation is buy the galvanized one.

This unit is well bult, easy to install and fits perfectly. A great buy if there ever was one. A few washers in the top bolt will give your spare a little extra room, and a nice customized look. For the money, you can't go wrong. The Tuff finish matched my galvanized trailer perfectly, too. Great product at a great price. Thanks again, Cabela's!
