Streamside Designs Rod Chuck

Designed for hobby and professional rod-builders to easily and securely hold a whole rod, butt or tip section during rod-turning operations. The unique design centers a rod blank, reel seat, fighting butt or tip section instantly and accurately every time - while protecting rod parts and hardware from damage. The chuck accommodates from a .30"-outside-diameter blank to a 1.5"-outside diameter fighting butt and the nosepiece can accommodate a .20" up to a .30" inside-diameter tip section ferrule. Precision-machined from tough, durable Delrin® plastic that is resistant to solvents. Fits our drying motor or any 1/4" dia. motor arbor. No tools are needed to adjust or set. Most rods can be completed on a workbench or a kitchen table. Made in USA.

This chuck is cleverly designed and well made. It secures even odd shaped handles, like pistol grips, to the turning motor. I have two of them and use them primarily for rod drying. They are expensive, but they work well.

I found the spindle diameter to be to large and had to reduce the spindle diameter to meet my needs. Otherwise works very well.
