This wire is terrific. I used it to tie various color Copper John Nymphs and wire body solf hackle wet flies. It is easy to work with and best of all the flies I've tied have caught trout. I like the fine wire type over the medium size.

thread is big enough to build bodies for copper johns and brassies down to 22 and still large enough to act as effective ribbing for midges as well.

When your fly tying goes into second gear, and you find yourself fishing small streams as well as local rivers, you need various weights/diameters of wire to get your nymphs/wooly buggers/scuds, etc. down. For the money, Cabela's ultra wire assortment definitly fits the bill.
Most fly fisherman know that even with bead or cone heads, you need more to get your fly down to the fish. That is why we use wire as well. Some waters may be only 3 feet deep while others could run much deeper. Cabelas' assortment, which is measured in .005 of an inch, allows you to tie flies according to the waters you are planning to fish.
This assortment allows you to tie multiple flies for the various waters that you, personally, will be fishing in. So if it is a fast moving river one day and a small stream the next, you'll be prepared. I highly recommend the ultra wire assortment by Cabelas.
