Why hassle with stick-on eyes? Use these long-lasting eyes with enamel iris/pupils that are guaranteed never to pop out. Per 15. Sizes: 5/32, 3/16, 7/32. Colors: Gold/Chartreuse, Nickel/Red, Nickel/Yellow.
A simple piece of weight and eyes that work well for giving an up barb hook on streamers. The weight and placement on the hook give great sink and a near snag less streamer.
This is my #1 go to eye for Clouser's, Half and Half's, and other related weighted eye patterns. Very durable, especially when coated with epoxy. Great strike triggers!
I began adding these to my salmon/steelhead flies for fishing the Salmon River in upstate NY. The extra weight is great for getting the fly down to the depths in stiff currents, where you don't have a lot of time for the fly to sink before you have to reel in again and cast back upstream. The fly is at the bottom for the entire drift! I'm returning to Alaska this coming July, and am using the Real Eye on all my Salmon flies, and hot pink dressings. I had no clue how to fix one to a hook, but it was a snap. They're super easy to wind onto the shank of the hook. And videos of the technique to be used are available on-line. My only complaint is that Cabela's doesn't give the weight of the various sizes, and with State regulations on how much weight can be added to a Salmon fly, knowing the weight when choosing a size to order is vital. I got lucky, the size I chose was exactly the legal limit! One size bigger and I'd have had to return them. My only regret is that I threw the packaging away, so I have no idea what to re-order. I'll be guessing again, unless I can find the original shipping invoice.
