Parachute Hoppers look so lifelike it is hard to tell them from live hoppers. They ride low in the water like a real stranded grasshopper and the parachute hackle imitates forelegs better than any other material. The white parachute post is easy to see, enabling you to fish these patterns in any light conditions or through fast, choppy water and not miss a strike. Per 3.

I would say McAdams can't cast. I have fished this particular extensively for the past few summers. This is a great go-to, mid-summer fly. I caught 12 one-pound plus Apache trout on a single fly this past weekend so it is plenty durable. My son and I caught over 40 on this pattern alone. Cabela's offers the best, most durable hopper pattern I have ever fished.
The hopper fell apart after about 10 casts... I didn't use the other out of the 2-pack, so I don't know if I just got a poorly constructed one or if they're all just poorly constructed. On a higher note, in 6 casts it did produce one strike to some rather finicky browns on the Rio Grande. Hence 3 stars instead of 1.
