It's perfect for harvested and naturally shed whitetail and mule deer antlers of any diameter. Extremely easy to use, it saves time and money over other mounting techniques. No more boiling and bleaching. Now you can remove your antlers and leave the skull in the field. The kit includes medium and large interchangeable antler-mounting top sections, antler-mounting screws and an instructional DVD. Made in USA.
Not a bad product for the price you pay. The picture is def misleading though, the skull is not a matte finish, it is very glossy, but can be fixed with a matte spray finish from the hardware store. Assembly is easy with the instructional DVD that comes with it. This product is perfect for a cheap way to show off your antlers. I'll be buying this again. The only reason i didn't give it 5 stars was just because the finish was misleading.
It's exactly what I expected. Up close its a plastic mold 4' and further it looks good. The kit comes with 2 skull plates large and small. I used the small for a 14" spread and it looks nice. Great option for the money, specially when the skull is long gone or you want a quick mount. I have many mounts of diffrent types and would do this again.
Neat overall idea for smaller antlers, but required power tool grinding and wood shimming of the antler attachment locations on the Skull Master Kit to get the wider 28" outside spread needed for my big mule deer sheds. The Larger Mount Plate as it came from the factory would have put the outside spread at 21", which looked totally goffy for these awesome 201" sheds from Northern New Mexico.
The camo color option looks only fair in close, but good from a distance of +5 feet.
The kit would have worked great for a 140" whitetail. If my son gets a small deer in the future, I will go for the white "skull plate only" option.
