turkey mount

took me 7 years to bag a turkey so i definately wanted to mount the fan and beard! i had no problem with the hardware or instructions and instead of borax i just used salt to dry out the fan and it worked fine with no smell. be sure to have it in the position you want and give it plenty of time to dry and the fan will turn out fine. dont have 3 beards so i rigged up a few wing feathers to make use of the other 2 beard hooks and it looks really good! to make up for the lack of beard length (4 inch jake), i glued the shell i got it with and an indian arrowhead i found on that property below the beard. couldnt ask for a better mount.

If you interested in a cheap way to show off your feathers then by all means this is a neat way to display that turkey fan and beard. However if you are looking for close to taxidermy work without paying for one check out some other products.

The Two pieces on the panel on mine are actually not lined up and they screwed them together so I would have to drill new holes. The name plate has a spacer between the wood and the plate making it protrude out a little.

The wood is solid, engraving on the wood is neat! But for a little more money I can get a higher/better quality mount than this.

Nice wood, cheap hardware

Purchased two of these kits. Wood looks nice & presents very well. Instructions are poorly defined & the hardware provided is very cheap. I ended up replacing all the screws used. Once you figure it out, its easy to set up. Make sure you have a drill & use better screws.
