Shooting Chrony Beta Master

Shooting Chrony's Beta Master Chrony combines all of the features of their Beta-Chrony chronograph with a remote read-out-monitor that also functions as a remote control. Review data, delete shots or whole strings, move to another string or return to a previous string and continue where you let of, etc., all from a distance. Check velocities ranging from 30 fps to 7,000 fps to within 0.5% accuracy for any projectile, including arrows, bullets, pellets, etc. An LCD read-out stays on the screen until the next shot is fired. Features a 60-shot memory (divided into six strings of 2 to 10 shots each). Each string give you Hi, Lo and Average velocity, ES and SD. It also features a permanent memory for at-home data retrieval. Constructed with a steel housing for strength, durability, and less expansion/contraction deviation than plastic housings. Weighing in at under a lightweight 2.5 lbs., the Beta-Chrony folds for safe carrying and storage. A manufacturer's three-year warranty is included.

Essential and indispensable for reloaders
Date:
This unit is essential for shooters and reloaders. It is the only way to know the value of work done reloading. I highly recommend this Shooting Chrony Beta Master .

Works as expected
Date:
Works as expected, as with all Chronographs, sensitive to lighting conditions. Controls are a bit cryptic but once you get the basics figured out, .i.e. clearing memory, clearing shots, string selection, it's really not that bad.. I made a laminated cheat sheet and stuck it to the back of the remote display. I've chrono'd my reloads for 9mm, 40S&W 45ACP, .223 Rem, .444 Marlin, and 300BLK. The remote display is a must for me since I shoot at a public range.

Awesome peice of equipment!
Date:
We bought this to measure the velocity of 22 caliber bullets that I was testing/comparing for a school Science Fair. It was easy to set up and understand how to use and how it worked. I won Grand Champion with my complete project and using and explaining the Chrony was one part of the project that helped me impress everyone, including the judges!

Simple to use and accurate
Date:
I started reloading a year ago and figured I needed a chrony to get the most out of reloading. I bought the Chrony Beta Master because of the remote capability. Being at a public range during peak times would make using a "non-remote" chrony a pain. With the remote I have the readout right there on the bench with me. I clocked reloads out of the Hornady 8th Edition to within 100fps. So this told me two things...the data in the book was accurate...and so was the Beta Master! I feel a lot more confident with my reloads now.
Using the Beta Master is easy....set up...turn on....shoot...read the number. There are string functions and such but I don't use them. I record everything on paper then enter it in my loading-log at home. I did have difficulty clocking some hot .30-06 loads at high noon on a sunny day. Even with the shades on the chrony I couldnt get a reading....overcast days and late afternoon I have had no problems.
I did manage to shoot the thing on its maiden flight. LOL. I was clocking some .44 Magnum and got a little sloppy with the trigger pull....shot off one of the support rods and took a chunk out of the rear sensor. I patched the sensor with "wonder putty" and drove a support rod through the putty before it set up. Then I ordered another set of rods from Chrony to replace the one I sent somewhere into the woods. Strictly a "Newb" blunder on my part...but it still worked!!!
I would recommend this to all. Knowing your muzzle velocity is KEY to properly calculating a range card. Also it can verify reloads and point out where your reloading may be inconsistant!
