Why pay more? The base is rock solid and performs as it should. I have trusted the Leupold name for 30 years and will hopefully continue to do so for 30 more.

As with all these types for bases, the key is to get them tightened down square with your scope. Once this is done, have a local gunsmith dowel the bases into your gun action. This won't allow any movement between the gun action and scope mounts whatsoever. Best way to keep a rock solid setup with havig to worry about a scope that is off as long as a legitamate scope is used.

Doing this with all my long range guns, and don't have to worry about whether the scope may be off from a bump, they are solid. Again the key is to dowel the bases to the gun action.

Mark 4 bases for model 70

Great heavy duty base for a model 70 (which is hard to find).
Fit was perfect for the action and the Mark 4 rings. Scope alignment was great as was the finish.
