    Bulk Fatheads
    Date:
Just returned from Smoothrock Lake in Ontario, Canada. Live minnows out- produced the preserved minnows 15-1. Only use if in a pinch and if no live bait is available.

    Way better than expected
    Date:
I bought a bag of the large fatheads to take to Canada. We also had Gulp and a few pounds of live leeches. I added some Kick'N Walleye scent to the minnows and was amazed at how they worked. They turned out to be the best producer, even better than the live leeches (could be related to time of year too).
The minnows held up well and the fish really wanted them. Much of it was related to the added scent I'm sure, but for the price, I could get 4 bags for the price of 1# of live leeches. They will be coming back with us next season for sure.

    Bad Bait
    Date:
Bought the preserved minnows for a fly in trip to Canada. The minnows were stiff as a board, but I thought they would improve once in the water. No such luck. Like putting a piece of wood on a hook. Will never use again, even the seagulls wouldn't eat them.

    Cabela's Preserved Bulk Minnows
    Date:
Bait looked very good, stayed on the hook well, but failed to perform. Fished Lake Roosevelt (WA) for 1 week for smallmouth, walleye, and burbot. Worms and artificial bait both worked well but not a nibble on the preserved shiners. Lake has a healthy crawfish population and the minnows were not even touched when used on a set line at night.
