Plano® 1444 Guide Series™ Systems Box

When you're packing a 44 Mag, you're carrying one of the most advanced tackle systems Plano has developed. The 100% worm-proof plastics and brass hardware will stand the test of time against the roughest conditions an angler can face. Four layers of storage within the 18-1/2"L x 11-1/2"W x 8-1/2"H box and large bulk storage with spinnerbait racks provide room for your favorite lures. A Smoke Crystal View™ lens covers a large dividable top storage compartment and combines with a unique mid-lid compartment to let you stow plugs, soft plastics or other favorites. It also has a comfort-form overmolded handle. Made in USA.
Size: 18-1/2"L x 11-1/2"W x 8-1/2"H.

Plano excellance always

Plenty of storage that adjusts to your needs. Upon initial inspection one can tell that the curved edge or "vaulted ceiling" of the grey translucent cover would make storage of small gear, panfish lures, end tackle, hooks, weights, sinkers, etc., a poor choice. The white inner tray is better suited for these. I currently have 22 hard baits/spoons, 10 spinnerbaits, 2 casting reels, pliers, clippers, and a jar of dried crickets. Plenty of room left for more.

Yes it does hold a lot of stuff but for me that was the problem. The top half holds lures underneath itself therefore the center tray must be snapped to the top before you close it or you will have a mess (yes...3 times lol). On a night-time walleye trip my buddy dumped it right after I cautioned him about that extra little latch inside. He then proceded to break off the latch on the center tray in the darkness. Never was a fan of those cheap little tab stye latches, they don't hold up in cold weather. I went to a Plano box without the center tray and all is well. But if you're not a klutz like me you might like this box.

Plano Guide Series Magnum 44 Box

I bought this box 7 or 8 years ago, has held up very well. Like many of the other reviewers stated, probably the best attribute of this box is the amount of tackle that you can stuff in here. I know that the crankbait compartment is the subject of some complaints, but I don't find it to be inconvenient. For the price, it is a great box that will last for years and years.

I have had this tackle box for about 6 years now and it has been through some pretty rough times on the river and lake and left out in the rain several times! Very durable and reliable tackle box. Highly recommend it to anyone!
