Good Value

This is one of my favorite Surf Rods because it is cheap, tough and I have treated it as no rod should be treated. It is an effective distance caster to be just a 10\u2019 Rod. Not the most sensitive rod out there but it is a good buy for the price and rigidity.

great value
Date:
Just bought my second Tica rod, a 9 foot 1/2 to 3 ounce. I wanted to go lighter with my surf rod for early season fishing and when the fish are in close. This is when I use mostly 3/4 to 1&1/2 ounce lures. This rod throws the entire range of weights very well and very far if I need to get the lure out to breaking fish. I have it paired with a Penn Conquer and 20lb Power Pro. It is pretty sensitive as I can feel the lure still swimming as I slow down the retrieve as slow as possible till the lure stops swimming. I've only caught a 20" bass so far, but I know this rod will handle much larger fish.

Great buy

I recently went to oahu and ot a chance to do some shore fishing. Local tackle shop owner lined my reel with 30lb test which is too heavy for the rod. So while i was fishing i hooked into a 33lb ulua it took me for a ride and at times i thought the rod was going to break but it held fast! Best fish i ever hooked into but to say the least the rod was reat it was easy to cast, great action don't hesitate to buy. Thanks

Terrrific travel rod
Date:
Took the 9' rod on the Na Pali Coast Trail to Kalalau Beach on Kauai with the Boy Scouts this summer. The rod case was just too heavy and bulky to put on my pack, so I used an old golf mini-travel cover and slipped it into an outside pocket on my pack. I had no problems with overhanging brush, while my fellow Scouters had some major hang-ups with their two-piece rods. Rod felt very much like a good two-piece rod and handled lures and sinkers up to 3 oz without any fuss. Only caught a couple of small fish so didn't have a chance to see how it would handle fighting a large fish, but I was still very happy with the way it felt while using it. I would highly recommend it to anyone contemplating purchasing a travel surf rod. Next trip I might consider investing in the 10' rod as well. The quality of the components cannot be faulted and the quality of the workmanship is excellent.
