The Tsunami Trophy Series brings you these premium surf-spinning rods for big surf duty. Quality construction and performance for professional anglers and enthusiasts alike. These rods are produced exclusively by Bimini Bay Outfitters Performance Products. Fitted with light, thin and tough cork grips with short EVA caps at the reel seat. Precision tapered blanks are constructed with unidirectional graphite composite and a specially designed, action-tuned outer layer of high modulus mesh graphite for more power with minimal weight and increased resistance to damage. good rod but corrosion issues

Have been fishing with the Tsunami Trophy eight foot rod for over a year now. We fish at least twice a week from the surf and jetties of Delmarva. This rod is a good value for the money. It is light and sensitive. I've caught 30" + striped bass and black drum with this rod with no problems. My only complaint is with premature guide corrosion. I wash of my gear religiously yet the guides are starting to corrode. Felt compelled to write a review because I've never had this issue with other brands.

Strong rod

Great feel to the rod. Loads well on casts and the two piece design makes it easy for transport. On my first trip out with it, hauled in a 35 pound bull red out of the surf with no problems.

Great Surf Casting Rod

I have found the 10' Tsunami rod to be a very versatile and well constructed rod. Quality ferrules and a very "grippy" handle. It casts well, is very sensitive to light bites (surf perch) and has enough backbone to handle pacific coast stripers. I especially like the two piece construction as it allows me to easily transport it in my jeep. Thanks Cabela's.

I purchased this rod new just a couple of months ago (8' version rated to 3 oz)... When it arrived several of the guide inserts were damaged... Cabelas was very helpful and sent me a new one which arrived in a couple of days...
I used it for the first time this month, floating live shad beneath balloons for stripers... Hooked into my first big fish and the rod snapped right in half, clean break....I was still able to land the fish, and it ended up being a 25 lb blue cat... this rod should have been able to handle it... I was only using 15 lb test and had my drag set pretty loose... it broke completely without warning... At least I still caught the fish :)
