SpiderWire Fluorobraid

    • Features Gore performance fibers
    • Casts like a braid and sinks like a fluorocarbon
    • Ultimate sensitivity
    • Excellent strength, durability and abrasion-resistance
A breakthrough blend of high-density Gore® fluoropolymer fiber and Dyneema superline, The World’s Strongest Fiber™ creates a line that casts like a braid and sinks like a fluorocarbon. The sinking properties ensure a more direct line from rod tip to bait. Less slack in the line translates into ultimate sensitivity and faster hooksets. Put the advantages to use in a variety of techniques from Texas rigging for bass to finesse jigging for groupers. Consistent with the name, this Spiderwire line builds on a reputation for strength, durability and abrasion resistance.

Date:
Spooled the 30lb test on my spinning reel; great casting, great durabilty, no issues with knots or fraying. A really good line for spinning reels.

Good Stuff! works as advertised!
Date:
Regular braid FLOATS. For top water fishing this is a great aspect or regular braid. However, for light jig(1/16 to 1/8 oz) fishing in deep water the floating property of regular braid is a disadvantage. Got out fished one day by my fishing buddy using regular mono because his lure was getting deeper than my super thin "Braid."
I needed a sinking braid for fishing light jigs in deep water while maintaining sensitivity. Spiderwire Flurobraid meets my needs. There aren't too many "sinking braids" on the market and this line has worked well for me. No it does not sink like a rock or "lead core line" however it does get down better than plain braid. I would say this stuff still does not sink as good as regular mono but it is close.
One thing I noticed this line is smoother and quiter through the rod guides when casting than
regular braid, such as Power Pro.
I read the other reviews and unlike those people I have not noticed any excessive fraying or chafing of the line. And I think the line knots very well with a variety of braid friendly knots. Tie the right type of knot and you do not have to worry about it slipping/failing or pulling out.
If it sank equal to or faster than regular nylon monofilament then I would have given it 5 stars!

Continually frayed, I returned it...
Date:
The good is this line casts as represented. I used 6lb test in moss green. Great casting ability.
The bad is it requires a Uni-knot to keep your lure from coming undone. That I got figured out after loosing about $12 worth of lures.
The ugly is the line continually frayed so fast that I had to cut and retie my lures every couple of fish. It didn't just fray a little either. It frayed a lot!
I took it back to Cabela's and purchased a different brand instead.

Bad line
Date:
Tried this line for the first time, and on the first trip the line developed a nick and began to unravel, cut off this section and after the second time out same thing happend, will respool with either power pro, suffix, or tuf line, all have worked great for me.
