Sims String Decelerator

The String Decelerator employs break-away technology to decelerate the string at a lower, gradual rate rather than a sudden, abrupt halt. The result is improved accuracy, reduced wrist slap and a more level arrow flight. It mounts to the front or rear stabilizer holes and allows use of your current stabilizer. The device adapts to any brace height. The universal mounting system will fit most bows on the market.

What a difference

This product made a huge difference in the sound and vibration of my Mathews outback. However, the mounting instructions left a little to be desired. Even though they seem self explanatory, different bow styles result in different fits. I found a YouTube video that utilized both mounting brackets in the rear stabilizer hole and it completely fixed the issue. Great product.

Put it on and shot it in the back yard. Huge improvement in noise and it seems like it improved the accuracy between the broadheads and field points. I'll take it out tomorrow at lunch and shoot at longer distance and see how it does. First impressions are that it will be better. 2TU and wish I would have done it sooner!

I purchased the Limbsaver String Decelerator for a Martin compound where FRONT MOUNTING was necessary. The mounting bracket went on easily and extended my Limbsaver stabilizer about 1 1/2" (guesstimate). After mounting the 3/8" rod with decelerator attached, I found that the decelerator needed to be rotated on the rod for proper alignment. It wouldn't turn! ! ! I e-mailed Sims and received a very prompt reply which said the decelerator IS supposed to turn, but they had reports of them sticking--just pull and twist. I clamped the the rod and twisted and turned--the NAVCOM part came off but not the insert. I again e-mailed Sims with photos of the process, then installed the "additional" (package terminology)decelerator that was in the package using a little soapy water. The unit works VERY well on my bow. It is much more quiet, and vibration is nearly non-existent. Resighting was required. I was highly impressed with the help from Sims Labs and their interaction. Don't go to the website though if you have problems, right now it's not much help.

I put this on my Hoyt Turbohawk and my bow went virtually silent. Simple installation. Significant reduction in bow noise at the shot and eliminated all string wrist slap. I had a Cabelas brand before, but this one is definately worth a few dollars more.
