Muddler Minnow - Per 3

The Muddler Minnow is perhaps the oldest of the sculpin imitating patterns, and it still works. Its clipped deer hair head is cut to the right profile to successfully imitate a live sculpin, and when fished with a sink tip or split shot, it floats far enough off the bottom to be quickly noticed by a cruising trout. The colors of the Muddler Minnow not only look like a small bait fish or sculpin but can be used as a hopper imitation in a pinch. Per 3.

These flies worked really well on a backcountry lake for smaller rainbows. I was able to have have these rainbow trout hit this fly all day long. Just a note is that this fly floats so it could also be used for a hair bug. But if you add weight or a sink tip line is should accomplish its purpose as a streamer.

i caught over 300 crappie in a single day, with a couple 3 pound bass thrown in, on just on of these flies. it was torn to pieces and still caught fish. this classic is still going strong

This fly is great.Ive caught a endless number of fish on it and sometimes its the only fly i need.This fly is great to work in current and your almost gaurenteed to catch fish on it.flyfisher
