On a Saskatchewan waterfowling trip, the Go-Anywhere proved to be a duck-grilling machine. It was in perfect working order after the long ride north from Nebraska, buried beneath a mountain of decoys, blinds and dog supplies in the bed of my pickup. Like all Weber grills, the Go-Anywhere is constructed of quality steel, aluminum and high-impact plastic components.

Upon accumulating enough pea-fed mallard and pintail for a few meals, it was chunked, lightly bacon-wrapped and threaded, kebob style, on water-soaked skewers. The kebobs soaked in a fowl-friendly blend of Italian dressing and soda pop for a day before their date with the Weber.

Its wire legs stabilized the compact grill solidly on a wood-topped utility box outside our friendly small-town motel. With stomachs growling, we were ready to fire up the Weber.

Installing a fresh 1-lb. propane cylinder was easy, and the push-button igniter fired the burner after only a few clicks. To remove any chance of an eyebrow-compromising "whoof" ignition, I would recommend hitting the starter quickly after turning on the regulator.

The 160-sq.-in cooking surface reached cooking temperature within five minutes. Soon the sizzle of slow-cooking duck met our ears and the sweet aroma of our Italian dressing marinade permeated the motel premises, drawing a crowd from the adjacent bar.

It took the duck kebobs less than 20 minutes to reach a tender, delectable medium rare, much to the satisfaction of our crowd of spectators, who were excited to try the aroma-rich concoction.

We had the Go-Anywhere cleaned up in seconds, and after letting it cool down through our meal, packed it neatly away under a protective mountain of gear.
