I saw an excellent opportunity to test the Pinnacles in the grain fields of central Saskatchewan on a waterfowl hunt. A group of us stayed at a local motel, and we learned on previous trips that the friendly motel staff stayed friendlier when we removed our boots at the door.

Tracking clay and gravel through the halls was to be completely avoided on this stay. The Pinnacles were tested side-by-side with a pair of Cabela's premium rubber boots. They pulled on and off just as fast as the knee-high rubbers, and the zippers performed flawlessly.

As waterproof boots go, it's extremely difficult to beat the reliable qualities of knee-high neoprene rubber boots. However, the Pinnacles offer nearly all the wet-weather protection of rubber boots with the advantage of hunting boot ankle support and optimum breathability through the GORE-TEX® Scent-Lok™ membrane.

Over time, the heavy-duty zipper may cause some problems for the wearer, but not before these boots have trekked through many hunting seasons. After the Saskatchewan trip, my boots bore the brunt of a hard Nebraska winter, at times covered in ice and snow. The zipper had a tendency to become stiff when it's really cold, but a few good tugs freed it up.

I highly recommend Cabela's Pinnacle Zipper Hunting Boots to anyone who needs a boot to perform well through a variety of conditions. While other boot designs may perform better on certain terrains and for particular hunting styles, my Pinnacles continue to impress me with their versatility and convenience.
