Venison Vegetable Soup

This vegetable soup goes a long way to heating up a cold winter day.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lbs. venison, cubed
  • 1 TBS oil
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1 pkg. (16 oz) frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 cans (14-1/2 oz each) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 cups potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 TBS sugar
  • 2 tsp. beef bouillon granules
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce
Directions:  In a Dutch oven, brown venison in oil. Add onion, cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until tender. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour longer or until meat is tender.
