It provides a framework and a guide for the family to discuss firearms issues within the home. It offers a meaningful blueprint for the responsible actions of both parent and child alike, and the signature lines for parents and children create a tangible commitment to safety.

Some may say it is just a piece of paper, but we feel the actions a family takes together, their discussions and their commitments to one another can make a real difference. The contract discusses handling, storage and a range of safety precautions for the parents. It also educates younger members of the family on how to treat and respect firearms within their own home, and what to do if a firearm is encountered outside of the home.
