Made in the United States for Cabela's by the knife experts at Silver Stag in Blaine, Wash., these knives feature blades made of 1095 high-carbon tool steel, which is used to make commercial saw blades and is known for its ability to take and hold an edge. Handles are constructed of shed deer or elk antlers that are matched to the size of the blade before being shaped and buffed to a finish that highlights the natural beauty of the antler and feels comfortable in the hand.
I had the opportunity to use both the 7 1/2-inch Presentation Fillet Knife and the 3-inch Skinner. Both were scary sharp right out of the box and more than lived up to my expectations.
