The NRA Basic Pistol Class is intended for anyone who seeks to obtain either their Connecticut Pistol Permit or their Massachusetts LTC.  The students will learn the proper knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for proper handgun handling and ownership.  The class is 8 hours, in order to satisfy the requirements for the State of Connecticut.  Additional instruction time will be added for students wishing to obtain their Massachusetts licenses, to satisfy the requirements of MA.  Day one of class begins on Saturdays at 9am at Cabela’s.  The class runs until approximately 3:30pm, with an hour for lunch.  Class resumes on Sunday at 10am at Wolf’s Indoor Range in Bristol, CT and will conclude around Noon. 
 
The fee for the class is $120 per person, which will cover both days’ materials and fees, with special rates for military/veterans/first responders. Instructor Peter Owens has a special concentration instructing individuals with physical disabilities, and is also factory certified as an armorer for both Glock and Sig Sauer pistols.

Join us as we partner with the American Red Cross for a blood drive to help save lives.  The Save a Life Bus presented by the American Red Cross will be in front of our store from 9:15am until 2:45pm for your donations.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student can mail or deliver the diploma to any State DEP office, and combined with an application for certificate (provided) and appropriate fee ($50), qualifies the student to obtain the Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation. Cabela’s is proud to provide support for area charities and conservation partners. Due to the large volume of requests received, we have an established policy for all donations. Our retail program supports non profit 501(C ) (3) organizations directly related to the outdoors and are located within 100 miles of the Scarborough store.
