Cartridge Components and Construction of regular and +P ammo. Discussion of where to locate cartridge identification on the cartridge and the ammo box. The possible cartridge malfunctions that may occur when shooting.

Shooting Skills- Done with Lazer Technology in Classroom to illustrate what must be done to be a successful Bulls eye shooter.

Boater Education Safety Class Saturday, May 10 9:30 am -6:30 pm 2nd Floor White Oak Room
Class is certified by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and taught by Coast Guard Auxiliary Instructors.

The class is eight hours in length consisting of classroom instruction, reviews, stories, videos and final exam covering federal, state and local boating laws; required safety equipment; safe boating; basic navigation; boating problems; moving and storage of boats.
Upon completion of the class students are awarded a Certificate of Completion and wallet card. The Certificate of Completion is accepted by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources under the Illinois Boat Registration and Safety Act of 1978, which requires persons under the age of 18 to carry on their person a Certificate of Completion or Competency to operate a Personal Watercraft (PWC) or a Motorboat on any public body of water in Illinois.

Lake Geneva Fishing Club Guest Speaker Russ Warye Wednesday, May 14 6:30 pm 2nd Floor Conference Room
Premiere Smallmouth Waters of Wisconsin Russ Warye is an author of fishing books, seminar speaker, and guide, fishing educator/teacher, recognized freshwater fisheries researcher and activist on clean water issues. Russ is the former Senior Research Editor and Fishing Spokesman for Fishing Hot Spots.

His background includes college and high school teaching, newspaper editor, outdoor writer, radio host, public speaker on environmental/fishing issues, and tournament Bass and Muskie angler.

Warye is proud to be known as an activist for clean water and fishing issues, including preserving the Clean Water Act and catch-and-release ethic. He has served on several Wisconsin DNR and citizen committees. Russ is a licensed multi-species guide (including Coast Guard) concentrating on Smallmouth Bass (with over 2,000 Smallies in the boat every year) and Muskie.

This is a concealed firearm permit class that has been specifically designed to qualify students to obtain several different concealed firearm permits, among which are the Utah and Arizona. At the end of this four hour class, you will be qualified to carry in up to 38 states. This fun, informative course is taught by Legal Heat, the nation's top provider of concealed carry training, and the cost is $75.00. 
 
Everything you need to apply for the permits will be included in this class, including passport-sized photographs, photocopies of picture ID’s, and pre-addressed envelopes.

Women's Intro to Guns Outing Sunday, June 1 10:00 am - 2:00 pm 2nd floor Confrenence Room
A chance to learn about firearms without all the macho baggage your husband, boyfriend or brothers bring with them. We know you love them, but sometimes it's more comfortable taking your first shots with "the girls". In this class you'll learn about firearm safety, storage and basic nomenclature. We'll start you off with an extremely low recoil .22 caliber pistol, and work up at your own pace. By the end of the day you might just know more, and be a better shot than your husband or boyfriend. No former experience required, ammunition and firearms are provided for this class.
 
This 4 hour class will cover:
Basics of firearm safety.
Safe storage of firearms.
Selecting a firearm that fits your needs and your hands
Basic principles of marksmanship
Stance, Grip, Sight Alignment, Sight Picture, Trigger Control
Care, cleaning, loading, and unloading of a firearm

Boater Education Safety Class Sunday, June 8 10:30am – 7:00-pm Big Stem room on the second floor
Class is certified by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and taught by Coast Guard Auxiliary Instructors. 

The class is eight hours in length consisting of classroom instruction, reviews, stories, videos and final exam covering federal, state and local boating laws; required safety equipment; safe boating; basic navigation; boating problems; moving and storage of boats.
Upon completion of the class students are awarded a Certificate of Completion and wallet card.

The Certificate of Completion is accepted by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources under the Illinois Boat Registration and Safety Act of 1978, which requires persons under the age of 18 to carry on their person a Certificate of Completion or Competency to operate a Personal Watercraft (PWC) or a Motorboat on any public body of water in Illinois.

This 10-hour basic boating course over 5 sessions + exam, allows for in-depth hands-on and interactive learning which is perfect for the new boater or to enhance your boating skills to promote more confidence. Learn the basics of metallic reloading.  Pistol and Rifle cartridge loading is demonstrated and performed by the student.  This NRA certified course includes instruction on load development, basic ballistics, equipment selection and use and most importantly, safety. 
 
You will be loading .38 Special and .223 Remington ammunition in this class.  We use a broad variety of equipment in the class to provide you with the ability to make an educated decision on what equipment is right for your needs.   In addition to the core curriculum, we also include coverage of special topics including use of military brass for rifle, special measurements for long range rifle ammunition, handling of .40 S&W case bulging, tuning of ammunition to the gun and more. 
 
Students receive the NRA Guide to Reloading, and course completion Certificate in addition to actual reloading experience.
