This 5 hour attorney-reviewed class will answer these questions and give you the knowledge you need to make an educated decision on what you need to be able to competently and safely defend yourself and your family with a firearm.

Some of the topics covered include:

  • Pros and cons of available weapons systems and their application to self defense
  • How to evaluate ammunition types and calibers, and their critical defensive role
  • Safety and storage considerations that families with children must know
  • How to develop the tactical skills & abilities that are critical to your survival

This is an 8 hour NRA Basic Pistol course, which includes a 1 hour range session.

This course meets the approved curriculum for the non-resident Florida CCW permit, non- resident Arizona and the resident Wisconsin CCW permit.

Course Includes:
  • Instruction Manual
  • Hands-On Revolver and Pistol familiarization
  • Cartridge Components and Construction of regular and +P ammo. Discussion of where to locate cartridge identification on the cartridge and the ammo box. The possible cartridge malfunctions that may occur when shooting.
  • Gun Handling Skills- safely loading and unloading of firearms, Proper handling while in private and in public, Range Commands.
  • Shooting Skills- Done with Lazer Technology in Classroom to illustrate what must be done to be a successful Bulls eye shooter.
  • Proper cleaning and lubrication discussion and demonstration.
  • Range Session- use of different calibers in revolvers and semi-auto handguns.

Concealed Carry Firearm Permit Course for Utah & Arizona Permits Saturday, June 29th 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Second Floor Conference Room
This is a concealed firearm permit class that has been specifically designed to qualify students to obtain several different concealed firearm permits, among which are the Utah and Arizona. At the end of this four hour class, you will be qualified to carry in up to 38 states. This fun, informative course is taught by Legal Heat, the nation's top provider of concealed carry training, and the cost is $75.00.

Everything you need to apply for the permits will be included in this class, including passport-sized photographs, photocopies of picture ID’s, and pre-addressed envelopes.

We will cover handgun safety, basic shooting fundamentals, concealment techniques, and the important state and Federal laws relating to owning, transporting, purchasing, selling, and defending oneself with a firearm.

All firearms must be legally owned and pass a serial number cross-check. Valid government I.D and F.O.I.D. card is required. No modern muzzleloaders, black powder or airguns.

Donation Guidelines     Cabela's in Hoffman Estates
Cabela’s is proud to provide support activities that include the youth in hunting, fishing, camping also for area charities and conservation partners. Due to the large volume of requests received, we have established policy for all donations. Our retail program supports non profit 501( c ) (3) organizations located within Illinois. All requests must be mailed on official letterhead of the beneficiary at least forty-five days prior to the event date. Requests can be mailed to:

In order for your request to be considered, please include the following information: date of the event and brief description, information on the beneficiary, how you plan to use item (auction, raffle, etc), and contact name and telephone number. Faxed requests will be accepted (847)645-9038. In order to assist the largest number of organizations annually, we can consider only one donation request per organization, per calendar year. If you are outside of our market area, please contact the store closest to your event, or contact our corporate headquarters for consideration.
