Champion callers Josh Grossenbacher and Brett Berry from Zink Calls and Avian-X as they answer questions and share tips and tricks for turkey hunters of all skill levels, whether you are new to the woods or have been at it for years. Josh and Brett’s  lifetime experience of turkey hunting, decoying, and championship calling will be sure to have you geared up for your upcoming season. Team Zink and Avian-X have been refining their skills in the spring turkey woods for many years, and with a combined staff of over 175 hunters, we are constantly trying new products and strategies to be more successful. We will not just cover the basics, but the details and thought process on how to make a spring morning successful.

Cabela’s presents an in-depth course on fly fishing from basic to expert. Course material is progressive but you can attend all or select which week fits your schedule.



Dr. Livingston Stone – Pioneer Fish Culturist - Presentation

Dr. Stone was one of the founders of the American Fisheries Society and his work has contributed greatly to our aqua culture and trout hatchery programs today. Ned Kirstein, Great – Great Grandson of Sr. Stone will present this topic along with many original photographs from the 1880’s.

12:00Noon-Cabela's XPG with Cool Phase Technology. XPG is a new product from Cabela's.  It is field tested and is designed for your active lifestyle.  See XPG at the big display in the Clothing Department.
12:30PM-Cabela's Euro HD Spotting Scope.-Our Optics Outfitters will show you how the Cabela's Euro HD technology in Binoculars or spotting scopes changes everything.  compare to more expensive brands and judge for yourself.
1:00PM-Dutch Oven Deserts.  This a favorite for campers and you can make it right in the backyard too.  Delicious and easy, tast some in the camping department.
 1:30 pm-The Worksharp Knife Sharpner.  This is the only sharpner you will ever need.  See the Worksharp demonstrated at the Optics Counter.
2:00PM-Kayak Basics- Have you ever thought about getting a Kayak?  The Marine Department will show you the more popular models and explain their use and accessories.
3:00 PM- There are many options for Handgun Concealed Carry, from holsters to Handbags.  See them in the Firearms Department and our Outfitter will explain the options and demonstrate their usefulness.

Cabela's Kid's Fishing and Trailblazer Day Saturday, May 3rd Starts at 10:00 am  
Cabela's in association with the U S Sportsman's Alliamce presents Kid's Day and Trailblazer Day.  We will put up the fishing pond and have it stocked with Bluegills and Catfish.  The Daisy BB gun range will be ready to go and the Youth Archery Range will be set up too.  Bring all the kids, have fun and learn about the U S Sportsman's Alliance Trail Blazer program.

Cabela's On The Road Saturday, May 3rd 10:00 am Smoke Hole, Cabins, West Virginia
Cabela's On The Road travels to Smoke Hole West Virginia for the annual Kid's Day at Smoke Hole Resort.  Trout Fishing, Archery, BB Gun Range and lots of fun outdoors.  Free Lunch will be served and there is no charge for this event.  Just come to Smoke Hole Resort in Cabins, West Virginia on Saturday, May 3rd.  Come early and bring the kids.

To be considered, please review the following:
  • Requests must be submitted online to Sponsorships, Donations & Advertising. Written or e-mailed requests will not be accepted.
  • Requests must be submitted at least sixty (60) days prior to the event.
  • We can only fulfill one request per organization per year. Multiple requests within a calendar year will not be accepted.
  • Organizations must be a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity and be able to provide documentation.
  • Organizations must be located within 100 miles of the retail store.
  • Submitting a request does not guarantee a donation.
