| Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism is offering an opportunity to remind boaters about the importance of boater education before taking to the water. Any person age 12 through 20 who wishes to operate a vessel ( personal watercraft, power boat, sailboat ) in Kansas without direct supervision must complete an approved boater education course. Direct supervision means being able to take over in case of an emergency. For a personal watercraft, this means that he supervising adult must be on the same vessel, not riding next to it. The supervising adult must be at least 18 years old and either have completed a boater education course or be exempt because they are older than 21. No one younger than 12 may operate a vessel without supervision regardless of boater education certification, and the course is recommended for everyone. Taking a boating education class will help ensure that your trip to the lake is safe and enjoyable for the whole family, and completion of an authorized course might even entitle you to a discount on boat insurance. Class fee is $65. You may attend if you are a MO or KS resident. We provide certified (8) hour training classes for Missouri and Kansas residents who wish to apply for their concealed carry permit. All classes are taught by instructors with extensive experience in training law enforcement, military and civilian clients and all have law enforcement, military and/or NRA training certifications. We keep the cost of classes affordable the class cost includes all course materials, certificates, range time, targets and a gun if you need to borrow a gun, Range time: It will only take you approximately 30 min to complete and will be scheduled at the Bullethole, located at 6201 Robinson. You must be a member at the Bullethole. IF you are not, the fee is $20 for a one year membership. We teach classes in the Johnson County / KCKs area, the KCMo area, St. Joseph, Ft Scott and Wichita. When you reserve your spot by email or calling, we will advise of equipment and how many rounds of ammunition you will need for class.
