Cabela's Canoe Loader and Rack

We made it easy for one person to load and unload a canoe from the top of virtually any car, truck or SUV. This device rotates to allow one person to load or unload a canoe. And you'll never again have to worry about damaging your vehicle during the process. Our Canoe Loader is crafted of heavy-duty steel with a weather-resistant finish and quickly mounts to your receiver hitch with common hand tools. Adapter bracket is included to permit use of the receiver hitch for trailering while using the Loader. Car-top canoe carrier is also recommended.

Works fine for 17 ft Wenonah canoe with my new "11 ford f150 short box.
Added a thule single bar for over the cab.
I replaced most of the included straps for good ratchets for my own peace of mind. I removed the wobble by running a ratchet down from the ends of the cross bar to each corner of the rear bumper. No wobble or sway now. Best unit I could find for the money and easily adaptable to improve security. I can do it easily alone in 10 min. even with arthritis in hands. A little thought makes this an excellent purchase.

I have been using this all summer and it makes loading my 16ft canoe on/off my SUV incredibly easy, by myself. Easy to install, it\u2019s really secure and protects the vehicle. Great product.

I'm a big, strong guy and have been sliding my Old Town Guide (16') on the roof of my Explorer for years....and have the scrathes to prove it! I have use the loader for about 3 weeks now and really like it. I like to load and go quick, so I was hesitant to buy something else I would have to install and load everytime I wanted to go out, but putting it on and the canoe takes about the same time as just sliding it up on the roof. I did have it slip off the rack while I was unloading it one time because the little straps were too loose (my fault). I also like that it brings my canoe further back on my roof so long trips might be a little secure feeling. Only draw back is I have to remove the whole loader to open my hatch or glass to get in the back of my Expedition (but since I'm usually alone, I put the fishing junk in the front seat).

Best Canoe Accessory I ever purchased

I have a 17' Grumman (heavy) that was always a pain for my wife and I to take off the SUV. This thing is a life saver, back saver, paint saver and marriage saver.
I can get the canoe on and off the car by myself with very little effort.
