I purchased this item and immediately put it on my Thompson Center Encore. It installed in 2 minutes with no problem. I had read there was a problem with the gun firing, this wasn't true. I found no negatives with the hammer extender whatever.

I bought this extension to fit my TC Endeavor. I needed to use low rings to mount my scope. The hammer did not turn sufficiently so I tried this extension. It would come loose after pulling the hammer back several times. It just didn't fit this hammer design. Not all was lost, it does work well on my lever action 35 Remington.
