Advertised as finished and it was really a rough finish. Would have required a bit of work to become a finished product. Poor quality for what was advertised.
A nice piece of wood, although blocky like a late model Japanese Auto 5. It did take a little sanding to get the barrel to slide cleanly and I had drill the holes for the magazine cap button, and receiver studs. A little tru-oil worked fine for touching up the finish. About an hour's worth of work, and while chuncky looking, the shotguns back in operation. After duck season I plan to sand it down to the slimmer lines of the older style.
This forearm is made of beautiful American Walnut and it has good machining for a proper "fit". The only problem is that this wood's color and grain do not match the original stock. Wood from one tree does not match any other tree. The only way I can see this working is to replace both Stock and Forearm at the same time so they match. My Browning A-5 has much more delicate color and more burls in the wood. So this forarm doesn't match at all. The small spring loaded pin that engages the forearm nut is not installed on this new forarm. I am going to have to return this item because of color, not because of quality.
