Bell & Carlson Replacement Rifle Stocks – Tan Web

These stocks have excellent strength, rigidity and durability achieved with a special composition that includes hand-placed layers of fiberglass, aramid and carbon fiber throughout the stock. Stocks are lighter than conventional wood stocks in both weight and recoil. They will withstand hard use, moisture and fast-changing temperatures. Each boasts fine-line checkering, a textured finish and a quality recoil pad. Rifle stocks weigh approximately 32 oz., have 13-1/2" L.O.P., and select stocks come in right- or left-hand models. Bell & Carlson (tan) replacement stock for a Ruger

I was extremely disappointed in this stock; it should never had made it past quality control checkpoints:
1. Fit was poor with uneven gaps
2. The cutouts for the action and barrel were rough and unfinished (pieces of the material used for the stock were sticking out on the inside where the action and magazine would fit, making it impossible to place the barreled action in the stock without some major cutting and sanding.
I did purchase a Hogue replacement stock, however, in the molded, camo configuration, and couldn't be happier. the action and barrel fit like a glove.

Great product needed slight fit

The stock was easy to install. I only needed to fit the barrel channel slightly to get the barrel to free float. The rest of the stock fit well. The only complaint I had was that the recoil pad on it is a very very hard rubber. I will definitly be adding a sims vibration pad in the near future.

I read the reviews and purchased the stock anyway thinking a Bell & Carlson should be fine stock. What I received was the most disappointing product I have purchased online. They state in the instructions that a minimal amount of material may need to be removed due to differences in the specs of the firearm. The stock I received was tight on one side of the action and had a 3/16 inch gap on the other sie. The magazine plate never would fit. I returned the stock and the exchange with Cabela's was the only thing that went right with this stock. Thanks Cabela's for making the process simple. I will not purchase another Bell and Carlson product.

good for the money

If you want an inexpensive, durable hunting stock this is it. Forend is a little too flexible to be a great comp stock,but it will get the job done on game.
