I have waited years to make this purchase, I purchased a cheaper spotting scope about 20 years ago and was not very happy. I purchase the Leupold in 2011 and it is awsome. Very clear and compact enough to carry in your day pack. Great optics!

Good scope

I like this scope except the fact that the power adjustment ring and the focus ring are adjacent to each other. This makes it a little confusing as to which ring you are turning. I returned mine and purchased another name brand scope that was new to the market.

I have looked at various other brands and read countless reviews - if you are looking for an excellent spotter in the mid price range - this is it. focus is tight, spotter collects light well in morning and evenings, clearity and color contrast is sharp for the price. very light weight - great for those who do it all on foot. soft case that comes with it is a great design and works well. This will be used for sheep and elk. Leupold is about all I buy for optics - reasonalbly priced and above average in quality.

Seems great. I will be trying it out this fall during deer and elk season. I did a lot of research and for the money this is the one.
