Burris High Country Spotting Scope

  • Stealth-enhancing rubberized exterior
  • Waterproof
  • Integrated lens cap and slide-out sun shade
  • Multicoated lenses absorb more natural light
Burris has always believed a sportsman shouldn't have to spend a week's pay for reliable optics. And the same idea holds true on the new High Country Spotter. The 15-45x50mm and 20-60x60mm models have functional features like the protective rubberized coating and waterproof exterior as well sharp, fully multicoated lenses. The integrated lens cap on the sun shade keeps dust out and prevents you from losing it.

HIGH COUNTRY UPDATE
Date:
I used to be guyfire but the site won't let me log in as such. I said I would update my earlier post if and when I finally got a hold of customer service. I was finally contacted by the Burris customer service manager himself and after that point all service was prompt and satisfactory. They issued me a new scope which arrived damaged aparently in shipping as the box was damaged. I don't blame Burris for this. I contacted them and they sent a second replacement the next day. That one arrived in good condition and actually has better clarity than my first one. The first was possibly a lemon.

Burris High Country 20-60x60
Date:
Scope is decent for the price range. Clarity is moderate at low powers and poor at high power but never good. Mine would either be clear in the center or on the edge but not edge to edge. After very little use mine would not zoom any more. Sent it to Burris for repair and have been very unimpressed with customer service so far.
Be clear that this has nothing to do with Cabelas. I have always been 110% pleased with Cabelas customer service.
Burris on the other hand seems almost impossible to get a hold of. Hve tried many times to talk to someone to find out the status of my scope. Always get message that all reps are busy and can't leave a message as the "mailbox is full". I resorted to emailing customer service from the link on their website-still waiting. With time being short I will probably just spring for another scope.
I have been borrowing a friends Vortex Nomad which Cabelas now sells. For a little more money I would highly recommend that scope.
I would give the Burris scope 3.5 stars when working and possibly recommend to a friend but I think customer service is part of the deal and so far no stars. I won't give up on them just yet though. If they pull through I'll update my review.

burris 20x60x60 high country
Date:
Just so you know I am basing my review on the comparison of the Burris to a 9 yr old pair of 10x50 binoculars and personal opinion. Burris had poor light gathering capabilities, poor image quality and tolerable color translation. Some reviews state being able to see bullet holes at 300yds with this product.. This scope seems to be quite different than those.

Great spotting scope
Date:
This is a great spotting scope for it's price range! The optics are clear, especially when comparing it to the other two brands that start with a "B". There is no need to refocus when zooming in, unlike the cheaper brands. You won't be disappointed with this scope, unless your use to the more expensive (+$500) scopes that have a higher quality lenses. This scope should get a best buy award!
