The Jig-for-Rigs lure is becoming an increasingly popular
weapon for Gulf Coast anglers fishing oil rigs for Amberjack and other large,
strong deepwater fish. The hooking setup is extremely tough and built for
punishment with a heavy-duty Rosco split ring holding a solid-eyed Mustad hook. Per each.

Thats how it went on the surf at South Padre Island. I pulled in 25 Spanish Mackerel in 3 hours with this diamond Jig. I lost one due to my own fault. I added a 18" wire leader and no problemo. What a rush! Used cabellas 10 ft king kat rod reel combo with 20lb spider wire. Got the best bang for the buck. Good fighting fish walked onto beach keeping line tight while reeling in catch.
I use these extensively in the Gulf of California for groupers and calico bass. The finish on them is more durable than other jigs They will last for many drops before the finish wears off. I cut the treble off and rig them with a dancing stinger hook on top. If the fish won't bite on a bare jig, I sweeten the pot with a piece of squid or a small filet. I wish they made them in 12 oz and heavier as I am fishing in 400 + feet
Great lure for the sale price, lots of heft & gets deep quick. Haven't really had a chance to use it extensively for large freshwater species but the price sure was right!
I have used these in the 4 and 6 oz sizes in the Gulf for many years and have boated hundreds of black fin tuna on them. I have tried other versions and they broke much faster than this brand. I also, switch the hooks out to a sharper treble hook when I first get them. I have been using some of these jigs for several years and the teeth of salt water fish beat them up quite a bit. I purchased a roll of silver/chrome reflective tape and I just cut a small section off and tape it to the places where the Chrome finish got dinged off and I am good as new.
To fish them, I cast them out and use a stopwatch to time my drop until I find the fish and their depth. Then I can get right back to them several casts in a row and don't waste a lot of time at wrong depths. I use this lure 90% of the time when fishing Black Fin Tuna.
