Poor Construction
Date:
While the design of this rod is nice, unfortnately its construction is not. While I was pulling a little bit of grass off of the small spinnerbait I was using, the rod snapped in two about six inches from the tip. It's going back to Cabela's today. I'll probably try a Shimano or a G. Loomis rod, instead.

Nice design
Date:
I just purchased two 6' 11" Tessera rods because I like how they're designed. The design addresses a couple of problems that I have had with other rods. They have a lot of high quality eyelets and the support wire for the eyelet at the tip is welded underneath, which should result in fewer tip snags, especially with the braided line I use. Plus, the hook keeper is behind the reel seat, so your fishing line cannot snag on it when casting or retrieving. One thing I'm not too sure about is the forward placement of the reel seat. It's a good couple of inches further away from the butt end of the rod than on my 7' 0" Shimano Clarus and a 7' 0" G. Loomis Mojo Bass rod I almost got. I got in a half hour of casting today with a small spinnerbait tied on and didn't have any tip snags. The only possible problem I see is that the rod might be a little stiffer than I'd like, especially in comparison with the Clarus.

Great for inshore
Date:
I paired one of these with a 3000 Shimano Stradic and it is GREAT! I know its a "Bass Rod" but its great inshore saltwater. Almost the perfect rod to use with a clacker cork/jig combo. The rod has handled many trout and quite a few sharks.
The foam grips are nice - easier to take care of than cork.
