My brother in-law and i bought a new Salt water reel and needed a good match up, so the clerk we talked with , felt this rod would work well with the reel we purchased. This Ugly Stik Rod, goes well with the new reel and we are pleased with the match-up !!!

nice tough rod

Got this rod in August of 2011. Caught my first pink salmon as well as many others with no problems. The MH is strong enough for plunking and light enough for tossing lures and jigs. Not a good drifter because you can't feel the bottom too well but you need a very light sensitive pole for that. I bought an ugly stick because my whole familiy and a bunch of salmon will beat the crud out of it. Congrats my 8 1/2 foot ugly friend, you survived!
