Cabela's European Zander/Walleye Rod

Our Zander/Walleye rod is ideal for longer casts. This 9' rod has a super-soft action and is the most popular rod used for finicky Zander (a perch related to the walleye) in Europe. Great for dead-drifting bait and for slip-bobber fishing, this rod also is excellent for panfish.

I have owned two of these rods for four years now, and my neighbor has bought two. This is my regular Pennsylvania trout fishing rod. Also use for perch, walleye, bass, pickerel, everything. I have even used it in the Salmon River, NY for 25-pound salmon with 10-pound test line.
I love it for regular trout fishing because you can reach out further, and it handled a 24" rainbow first day of 2008 without an issue. The flexibility of the tip action allowed the fish to run when my "net-man" missed three times. :^O
It is sensitive, yet has enough backbone down low to make super-long casts with ultra-light tackle, and to battle bigger fish.

I can lob really small baits a long ways with this rod. I am quite pleased with it. I actually use it in some super clear water to drop shot for Bass from my Kayak.

Great Rod For The Price

A little stiffer than I thought it would be, but it has performed great for walleye and small mouth up to six pounds.
I have used it for trolling cranks, crawler harnesses, and jigs with reels loaded with mono and braided line. Also works great for long casting.
