Snapped...
Date:
Light Action 2 piece: About the 5th cast in set the hook on about a 12in crappie, rod snapped about 5in above the joint of the 2 piece rod. This was on 4 lb test and not a hard hook set. Thanks to Cabelas excellent customer service i was sent a new one. I will give the second one a whirl, but if it breaks im done with berkely rods.

Excellent Rods for price
Date:
I was going on a Pink Salmon fishing trip and I wanted a rod I wasn't afraid to beat-up, but yet had sensitivity and strength. This is the one I chose and I am very glad I did! We caught 36 salmon total in two days and I used this rod the whole time with red colored braided line at about 15# and it was perfect for casting my metal spoons. If you want quality, durability and strength at a very, very low price, this rod is for you!

6'6" med spinning
Date:
I've found this to be a pretty good rod, especially in it's price range. I used mine mostly for trout and it had a soft enough action even though it was a medium. They are surprisingly durable. I slid down a bank and fell on a large rock with all my weight on the rod when it hit the rock and all the rod suffered was a scuff on the finish. It never showed any sign of weakness on fish after that accident. I would give it more than 3 stars if it weren't for the cheap guides and I don't particularly like the reel seat design but thats a personal thing, not really a flaw with the rod. It's light in weight for a composite rod. If you need a low price rod, this might be your best choice.

Good sensitive rod.
Date:
I got the 5'6 light and the 7ft. medium action rods. I love my 5'6 for throwing spinners for trout. Landed a few 20inchers this year with no problem. Just got the 7ft version and got to try it out for drift fishing salmon. Landed one with multiple hook ups great rod!
