I was never a big fan of spinning reels until the Wave Spin Reels came out. These reels are better than any other spining reel that I ever owned. You will get no twists, overloops or birdnests.Try one and you will love it and you will then order the other. They are kind of hard to find but Cabelas, unlike their competitors,have them! Teach a kid to fish!

THESE REEL'S ARE UNDER RATED!! I started with theDH3000 it handled snook, redfish and sheepshead without a problem. I also used it as my go to reel when I am slop/ frog fishing for bass in the portage lake's. I was so impressed with this reel that I bought the DHXL. This spring I picked up the new wave spin's the ZTR3000 and the ZTR1500. I have not been let down yet.!! these reel's all have a great drag system on them. very smooth action, and very affordable. follow the direction's on loading line on your wave spin, and you will not have tangle's and bird nest's in your line when you cast.

I was lookin for a new reel for my walleye pole and was pointed to the wave spin... Looked nice and was very smooth. However i didnt like the fact that every cast the line would loop or jump up over the spool. Not very impressed seeing how this reel is made to stop these problems from occuring... Imo i would recommend a nice pflueger, shimano, or the cabelas zx tourny reels over this one

Good Quality Reel

Due to my style of fishing I can have bad days with knots. After servicing a WaveSpin and seeing how well its built I decided to buy one for myself and see if it helped. I'm quite satisfied with the results. I've since used the 3000, 4000 and DHXL. All have worked without problems and have more than enough stopping power for the size reel. Compared to many others on the market they're built strong and well worth the price.
I normally use a 4000 size reel. The WaveSpin 3000 is equal in size to my 4000's
One issue I've seen causing others to have problems is overfilling the spool. It should be filled no higher than the bottom of the grooves.
