This reel has high-end features and performance, like the Propulsion Line Management system for longer casts and reduced backlash. The Super Stopper II provides instant anti-reverse without backplay. Propulsion® spool lip prevents backlashes. Varispeed® oscillation controls spool-speed for even line lay. DynaBalance® in the rotor eliminates wobble during retrieves. Power Roller® II reduces twist from casting and retrieving. Graphite frame, sideplate and rotor. Cold-forged aluminum spool.

Great product for the price

I would expect this reel to cost much more than it does for the way it is built and the smoothness. But I didn't want to spend a heap of money for a bream rig. Very light and makes the smaller fish a blast to catch. I recommend it.

Best Spinning Reel

I am a 100% budget fisherman and with this reel, I get every penny out of it. It is so incredibly smooth and lightweight and I have caught everything from Salmon in the Oceans to Largemouth in a backwoods pond with this reel in hand! I have only ever herd good about Shimano so I tried it out and I will never go back to anything else! Do not doubt this reel, it will preform just like it should for you every single time, I am not doubting that this reel could last me the next 7 years without fail. I highly recommend this! I own the 1500 models for all my lightweight set ups, perfect reel!

Great reel

Casts a country mile. Very smooth cast. Retrieve is like butter. Used 2500 today on 6"6 medium rod and caught two 2 pound bows. Reel was awesome. Great price. Outstanding product.

This is a great reel for the price. Just as smooth as the sedona which is the one my friend owns. Plenty of features for good performance. Enough quality to last a while. Around $30 dollars makes this a great buy. I love this reel. A nice suprise from shimano!
