good combo
Date:
the pro guide is a good tough rod. i use a 2pc on a down rigger. the combo kit 5pc has pulled in everything i've been able to keep in the hook. the case is to big~the foam is very weak~zippers are flimsy. i bought a flyrod case. the reel is ok but i went ahead and put on a mitchel 308. put together a travel tackel box and you have a nice setup

Best Combo Rod set
Date:
This is one of the better combo set I own, took it to numerous lakes and rivers in Europe, caught my biggest Walleye and Pike on this rod in Germany, with the same test line that it came in. Getting another one, Best bang for your dollars.

Very Bad
Date:
I recieved this as a Christmas gift in Dec. 2008 and have used it one time on a trip to Florida. With very little use, two of the line guide inserts came out and I glued them back in. Then, after I had caught 6 or 8 fish on it, the reel became noisy and rough. I took it apart, cleaned and lubricated it, but that didn't help. I purchased another reel and as I was putting line on it, the guide next to the tip that I had glued the insert back into, broke off. The case is very nice though and I like it really well.
