Cabela's Whuppin' Stick Salt™ Spinning Rod

These rods are built with all the same durability as the originals - plus the extras needed to handle the extreme saltwater enviroment. Each blank is crafted of a powerful, nearly indestructible, E-Glass and T-Glass blend for the backbone it takes to heft saltwater bruisers out of the depths. All are outfitted with graphite reel seats for extra sensitivity and soft EVA grips for a sure-handed grip. Rods have stainless steel frame guides and ceramic inserts. All have a nylon gimbal butt with cap.

FINEST SALT WATER ROD~EVER!

AFTER OWNING SEVERAL SALT WATER COMBO'S THIS 'WHUPPIN' STICK COMBO IS THE SMOOTHEST I HAVE EVER OWNED~~THE SENSITIVITY IS UNMATCHED AND EVERY STRIKE (SO FAR) HAS BEEN LANDED. (AND THAT'S FROM MY KAYAK IN THE OCEAN!) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS AND RIGGED UP WITH SOME 50# BRAIDED LINE AND DIFFERENT COMBO'S OF LURES (BAIT FISH TO IMITATION EELS ) SHOULD PROVIDE YOU WITH HOURS OF F-U-N !!

best bang for your buck

Put this rod to test in Mexico 3 weeks ago. Sensitivity of a fresh water rod, but the back bone of a true salt water rod. My wife, landed a 45# yellow-tail after a 30 min. battle. She was using 20# braded line on the reel. Without a good rod, this wouldn't go. Most impressed.

Whipped stick

This rod is pretty sturdy and was a good match with my Penn Sargus 8000 reel. But the 2nd trip out the guide ring fell out of the big guide. There doesn't appear to be any damage of any kind, it just fell out. Since I'm in Belize returning it is impossible. I was very disappointed.
