Its smooth, eight-bearing system and anodized-aluminum surf-casting spool offer long-line control for deep casts and retrieves. One-way clutch Instant Anti-Reverse bearing eliminates backplay for responsive hooksetting power. Super-tough, titanium-coated line roller resists abrasion from sand and debris. Corrosion-resistant aluminum body and graphite rotor. High-strength aluminum handle with a soft-touch grip.

I purchase three of the 6000 size reels last year and they worked great while fishing the Outer Banks surf. However, this year when I unpacked them getting ready for a trip back to OBX this year, the anti-reverse had failed on 2 of the 3 reels. It may be that there was an issue with one of the production lots, who knows. I suggest checking your reels before your 1 Year warranty is up. Without this issue I would have given 4 or 5 stars on this reels performance in the field.

One of the best purchase ever

This surf reel is very smooth and well balance. I pair it up with 12' FT Okuma surf rod. With this reel and this rod I can cast 80 plus yards. This reel has a craking power you woulnd'nt believe. Yesterday Sunday the 15th I horse a 34.5 pound blue cat around a tree stump with no problem at all. In all I ended up with 34.5,21.5,18, and 13 pound and 16 others ranging from 3 to 10 pounds. I love this reel abd I will my fourth one soon and I will recommend to friends.

Great Reel

Reel is very smoth and well balanced. I paired it up with a 11' Ugly Stik. Used last week for surf fishing in Florida. The cushioned knob on the crank is very easy to hold and is easy on your fingers. It got dropped in the surf washed it off and it was still as smooth as silk. Love it will buy another and would recommend to friends.
