Works better than AG's more expensive reels

I was very impressed with this reel. The tension iss very easy to adjust and fits well in my hand. The spool release button felt a little cheap after a while, almost as if it was broken after the first 15 casts, but it kept working. Occasionally, I would get backlash but this was rare and usually fixed by a long cast and pinching the line as I reeled it in to make sure it spooled tightly. Also, this reel was loud, like the line inside was constantly scraping the metal parts inside. A simple reel that simply worked. More than I can say about the other to expensive AG reels I also bought.

My Wife's Favorite Reel

My wife uses this reel on our frequent hybrid bass fishing trips. She has no problem casting it and the drag holds up well to the powerful runs common with these fish. I spend less time messing with gear and more time fishing and both of us enjoy the trip. I have a bucket with several Johnson's and Zebcos in various states of repair/disrepair. I plan on dumping them in the trash and buying 1 or 2 more Abumatics.
A good reel at a good price.

Great Reel For Crappie

I have used mine for several years now. I own 6 of these reels. These reels are designed for small pan fish up to @3 pounds. With 10-pound stren original I have landed so many meals of crappie and sandies. Fishing line on a spincast reel becomes worn-out after a few months simply of the tight radius\u2019s the line has to go through while retrieving the line. This reel is great for small baits and lures. Occasionally take off the face piece and clean the lake yuck from the inside. The thumb button also has a positive stop so you don\u2019t apply too much pressure to the reels mechanism while casting. These are great reels and if you take care of them they last just fine. When I go after the big fish I use the correct equipment, I use my c3\u2019 and c4\u2019s for catfish, drum and big bass. I have owned some of these since high school in 1976.
