All units have a 240-ft. depth capability, a built-in temperature sensor and operate on 6 AA batteries (not included). Available:
Model 110 – This capable, economical unit accurately displays sonar data in detailed 160v x 128H 4-level grayscale.
Model 120 – Side-sonar capability gives you the ability to mark fish under docks and shoreline weeds, while 8-level grayscale enhances the clarity of the 240v x 160H LCD screen.
Model 140C – Vibrant 250-color images are highly visible on the 320v x 240H 4" color LCD screen. The 140C also features a 455kHz side-finding sonar.
Used it as a transom mount and as side mount on a small Lund boat for myself and grandkids. Great bottom and side identification, easy to see in sunshine, very portable. I wish Hummingbird or Lorwance made as good as this for a pontoon. Haven't been able to find one.
My buddy and I do a lot of bass fishing using my canoe. This device is very easy to put on the canoe and use. The color screen is easy to see in a variety of light conditions. Solid unit construction. If you have a canoe or pontoon boat you really should take a look at these units.
Recently purchased the Hummingbird Fishingbuddy 120, (actually in store purchase with a coupon from Cabelas-saved $20.00) for a fishing trip here in Wisconsin, on a lake I had no experience on. The lake water was extremely murky! Fishing report dismal! Fishingbuddy worked extremely well. Depth finder very accurate. Fish identifier picked up fish and we caught them! Definately increased our yield. Downside is battery life-if used continuously- and stability of the unit if trying to mark depth, and fish if moving faster than trolling speed. Also length of transducer 24" limits its use on certain boats and other circumstances. Otherwise very pleased with the purchase. I can see this unit being very useful for ice fishing as well. Sidefinder view adds to this units value, useful under structures, piers, weed beds, ect.
My old model 1200 Fishin' Buddy worked well for nearly 10 years although the sidefinder stopped working about 18 months ago. So I bought a new model 120. To turn on I must push and HOLD the menu button for it to start up. Same is true to shut it off. If I release the menu button it won't turn on or off depending on what I was trying to do. Second and bigger problem comes with trolling with my 25 hp Merc. The finder wants to bounce around within the holding cup because the top end of the finder is to light weight. The old model 1200 did not have this problem at slow speeds. Using a 45 lb thrust Minn Kota motor does not present the same problem due to less vibration from that motor. In choppy water the finder does bounce around. The head really needs to be a lot heavier or a deeper cup to keep it stable like the older model 1200 was. Even though I would recommend this finder to a friend, I'd be sure to ask how he intended to use it.
