good smoker but doesn't last long
Date:
I bought one a few years ago. Worked great, food was wonderful. after numerous uses it died and would no longer heat. I tried to take it apart to see if I could fix it but to no avail. So I bought a new one. This one only made it thru about 4 cooks before it died. I miss the smoker, but for the cost of replacing it I just as soon as buy smoked meats. Switching to a propane smoker.

Great for what it's designed for.
Date:
First of all, a lot of people complain that it wont work at 100 degrees. It's not that kind of smoker (not a cold smoker#.
If you're wanting to smoke briskets, ribs, pork buts...standard BBQ stuf it excells. it holds the temp great, cooks evenly and produces smoke.
They should warn about it on the box maybe, but they dont.
I've owned two -- my first a 30 inch smoker, and after it died from being exposed to the weather for two long #several years#, I got a 40 inch. I've smoked four briskets at a time in the little one #not really recomended# and it works like a champ. Smoked lots and lots of ribs, pulled pork, and ABT's. You wont get a smoke ring from an electric smoker, but that doesn't really effect the flavor as much as people think.
I love being able to put in a brisket, fire it up, and go to bed and leave it running while I sleep.
Anyway, the only real downside to these things is they don't like weather. Get a tarp or a good cover #or pull it into the grarage). They aren't super durable, but they do work well.

This Smoker is Terrific!
Date:
Out of the box, smoked 2 chickens, next day smoked a goose hubby shot the previous day. 2 days later smoked a batch of venison steaks. Currently there is a venison ham in it. We have been extremely pleased with this smoker. No complaints.
